Sanchore is a big city in the Sanchore district in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is the headquarters of the Sanchore District, located on National Highway 68. Sanchore was once known as Satyapur. Sanchore is a town located in the SANCHORE district of the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is situated in the western part of Rajasthan and is close to the border with the state of Gujarat. Sanchore is known for its agricultural economy and is a major producer of crops such as cotton, wheat, and mustard. The town is also home to a number of educational institutions, including colleges and schools. Sanchore has a population of around 45,000 people according to the 2011 census.

Sanchore Economy

Sanchore had a lot of infrastructure projects underway as of 2020. In 2010, 480,000,000 metric tons of crude oil were discovered by oil exploration company Cairn Energy in the Barmer-Sanchore Basin. The Narmada Canal, which starts in Gujarat, enters the state of Rajasthan near Silu village in Sanchore tehsil after passing 458 km in Gujarat. India’s largest gaushala, Gopal Govardhan Gaushala, is located in Pathmeda village near Sanchore. This gaushala takes care of around 28,000 cattle on 200 acres. 2023 Many new projects have been done in Sanchore ,and has been declared a district in 2023 because it is a developed city. As of 2011, Sanchore had a population of 487458, of which 254057 were male and 233401 were female. The male population is 52.1% higher than the female population, at 47.9% female. Sanchore has an average literacy rate of 56.18%, lower than Rajasthan’s average literacy rate of 66.11%. And in Sanchore, male literacy is 58.77% and female literacy is 32.18%. 15.98 percent of Sanchore’s population is under six years of age.
